Meet Jessica: A Therapist Specializing in Childhood Trauma and Relationship Abuse Recovery
Jessica Payne MA, LPC, CCTP, NATC
Jessica prioritizes helping her clients gain a deep and transformative understanding of themselves, their relationships, and their life experiences. She firmly believes in empowering her clients to develop an intricate understanding of their own patterns, recognizing how past experiences influence present functioning. Drawing from a variety of psychological theories, Jessica creates space to explore and differentiate between authentic self and the protective parts of self that have emerged in response to subtle traumatic experiences. Her approach is rooted in fostering insight, self-discovery, and choosing change that actually works.
Recovery from abusive relationships with individuals high in dark triad traits like narcissism is a major focus of her practice, and she offers specialized expertise in post-separation abuse. Jessica helps her clients make sense of what they have experienced, understand the patterns and dynamics that may be impacting them, reconnect with their own perceptions and intuition, and develop the clarity needed to move forward in a way that aligns with their values, needs, and long-term well-being.
Jessica also specializes in helping adults understand the lasting impact of childhood trauma and adverse experiences. She works collaboratively with clients to explore how early relationships, family dynamics, and formative life experiences may continue to influence their emotions, relationships, self-concept, and patterns of coping today. Through this process, clients gain deeper insight into themselves, develop greater self-compassion, and create meaningful change in their lives and relationships.

*HSA and FSA may not be used to pay for couples sessions, and superbills are not available for couples sessions, as insurance does not cover couples therapy. Some insurance may cover family sessions when one person is the identified patient and the partner is brought in only to help address the treatment for the other person's diagnosis. I do not offer this type of ongoing couples therapy, and my approach is to treat the relationship/both partners as the identified patients. Therefore, all couples therapy is private pay and not eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.
*HSA and FSA also cannot be used to cover the cost of late cancellation fees.
Appointments: Daytime, evening and weekend appointments are available.
